Academic staff guidelines to adapt teaching materials for students with disabilities and learning difficulties

In this report, an overview of how teaching and learning material can be adjusted to support students with disabilities is provided. A range of different approaches to support are identified and discussed. The goals of this work can be considered as:

  • To investigate into how to produce and/or adapt learning materials using the new assistive technologies to make them accessible to all, and to establish guidelines.

  • To look for best practices to adapt learning materials, particularly from SALEIE partner institutions.

  • To study the integration methods for the adapted teaching materials in the Learning Management System (LMS).

Click to open the SALEIE report on adapting teaching materials.

Physical infrastructure and laboratory access

Access to education requires a multiple of different aspects of the education process to be accessible to all users. In this report, a discussion is provided into the physical infrastructure and access issues for students with disabilities. The discussions are centred on two key aspects of access:

  • Access to physical infrastructure.

  • Adjusting laboratories in EIE for access.
